THE PREDICTION
Both these sides proved themselves capable of some good performances last season, especially Northampton who finished in fifth-place of the Premiership table after a late flurry of form. Gloucester were not too far behind on points but finished second-from-bottom of a congested lower-half of the table after just coming off the worst in many a tight result. Saints should be competitive once again this year but the return of Saracens puts them down the pecking order somewhat for a shot at the top four and with Wasps and Leicester Tigers looking set to improve it could be a squeeze to qualify for the Champions Cup. This first fixture back could be a lot tighter than it looks with the away side eager to better their previous season. Take Northampton Saints to win outright here for a cautious wait-and-see.
