THE PREDICTION

Newcastle Falcons were competitive in their opening round defeat to Premiership reigning champions Harlequins and they bounced-back accordingly with an excellent performance away at Bath to win 13-20 last Saturday. They might have fancied their chances at home to Wasps ahead of last weekend’s fixtures but the side that struggled for so much of last season absolutely smashed Bristol 44-8 last Saturday to send a huge statement to their doubters. In what is proving to be a remarkably strong division, this could be the most exciting match of the weekend. Taking it to see over 40 points would be a suitable alternative to the result here but otherwise Wasps look the likelier of two capable winners.
