THE PREDICTION

London Irish lost 36-24 at Worcester Warriors last Saturday in an open match that leaves more questions than answers. They claimed the vast majority of their points on home soil last season but a bonus point in defeat is a nice consolation. Of course, the lack of relegation this season takes the pressure off the likes of Irish, Worcester and Gloucester and that could make them more of a force at home, with Sale Sharks coming in for what could be a tricky afternoon on Sunday. Sale claimed a tight 20-19 win at home to Bath to kick their season off nicely but there was room for improvement without some of their biggest names. There is the scent of an upset about this, so taking the away side as outright winners seems cautious enough.
