THE PREDICTION

Leicester Tigers stole away the winners in a thrilling 26-28 Boxing Day clash at Bristol Bears last weekend to maintain a perfect overall record this season. Steve Borthwick’s winning machine have claimed victory in each of their 10 Premiership matches so far and all 14 played across three competitions this season, with travelling Newcastle Falcons unlikely to cause much in the way of trouble here. The visitors have won on the road twice this season at struggling Bath and impressively at Exeter but a hefty defeat at Saracens more recently is the likelier way this encounter falls. The hosts almost have a higher points difference (131) than the Falcons’ entire points-for haul (174) and that suggests a decent -10 can be covered by the leaders here.
