THE PREDICTION

Wasps were humiliated at home by Harlequins in a match they would have expected to win and that 17-49 defeat comes a few weeks after a very close-run win 44-52 win over struggling Bath. Whilst in recent seasons Wasps have been accustomed to scoring big and conceding almost as much, they could be a little shook after last weekend’s result and visiting Northampton could smell blood after they beat Gloucester 26-31 on the road on Saturday. Both sides will have to cope without a host of international stars and that should make for a very tight result indeed here. There could be as little as a penalty in this one but the kinds of scorelines where Wasps are involved should see them just edge a match that goes over 40 points.
