THE PREDICTION

Sale and Wasps looked to be the best of the rest towards the end of last season in the Premiership but both have slipped up in the league against high-flying newly-promoted Newcastle Falcons already. Wasps have also lost away to a puzzling Gloucester outfit to see just one win from their first three in the new season but they had the much better time of it in Europe, winning both their Champions Cup fixtures over Dragons and Montpellier. Sale fared the opposite with back-to-back defeats, expectedly at Toulon but poorly last time out at home to Edinburgh. Therefore, both sides meet at the AJ Bell in some intermittent form and a result could go any which way. Momentum favours visiting Wasps for the victory but it could be worth picking this match to go over 40 points and leaving it at that.
