THE PREDICTION

Sale Sharks have played the role of David well in recent weeks as they beat the reigning champions Exeter 25-20 at home last time out, three weeks after beating the current leaders Bristol. They have struggled against the sides they should be beating but that victory over Exeter should give them the momentum required to string two wins together for the first time since late January. Newcastle Falcons recovered from their covid-19 outbreak exceptionally well last time out to beat in-form Harlequins 25-23 but they have failed to win an away game since the Challenge Cup in late December and look set to fall just short here. Sale will be eager to re-establish themselves as a title-contender after last weekend’s win and can cover -7 to win an entertaining clash at home.
