THE PREDICTION

Newcastle Falcons lost their first Premiership game at home last Saturday in conceding six tries to struggling Bath for a 19-38 defeat. The promoted side have now lost back-to-back league games and, due to covid-19 cancellations against them, six of their last seven to drift slowly back into the lower-half of the table. Nevertheless, relegation is scrapped this year and that takes all the jeopardy out of their recent poor form and indeed visiting Wasps’ season-long struggles after they lost their eighth game of the campaign 37-20 away at leaders Bristol. Wasps are in similarly poor form and travel to Newcastle the underdogs here after winning just one of their last seven Premiership matches. This looks like it could be incredibly tight but the Falcons’ home form has been strong despite their recent loss. Take them to just edge this match by covering as little as -1.
