THE PREDICTION

Reigning Premiership champions Exeter Chiefs were superb in a high-octane 40-30 win over Sale Sharks on Saturday to reach a sixth-successive play-off final, though they will have been shocked to find who they were facing ahead of kick-off. Harlequins pulled off a famous, record-breaking comeback against Bristol Bears in the first play-off semi-final, fighting back from 28-0 down to beat the Premiership leaders 36-43 in an enthralling game. Quins will likely still be buzzing by the time they travel to Twickenham for what could feel like a home away from home for the Londoners and that makes for a really intriguing final. Exeter are on an eight-match winning streak and beat Harlequins home and away this season, although by just the one point at home back in March in a tight 21-20 result.

The Chiefs will be confident of a win here still but what may have looked like a gift by Bristol last weekend will need a quick recalibration to facing a different set of challenges if they are to retain their title. This could be much closer than many think, so take the defending champions to cover -4.5 in what looks set to be a classic at Twickenham.
