THE PREDICTION
Pau came so close to beating Clermont Auvergne at home on Sunday but not winning a game on your own turf having scored 31 points is the reason they are currently in 11th place of the Top 14 with the seventh-highest points scored. This match was due to take place on January 2nd and so both teams will have preparations still in mind to face each other at Bayonne, where the hosts have not played a Top 14 game since early December. Bayonne had some difficulty in Europe and have not played a competitive match for almost a month, with their last three Top 14 fixtures postponed and Pau have fared much better over recent weeks. That form should see the visitors in high spirits here but their style of play leaves plenty of opportunities for their opponent’s to score well too. That being said, this match going over 40 points looks likely and Bayonne should come off the worse having not played for so long.
