THE TEAM NEWS

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

  • Huddersfield Giants will be eager to end an underwhelming campaign on a high as they aim to make it back-to-back victories having hammered Hull FC last week.
  • The Giants were well-fancied as a title challenger before a ball was kicked but they have spent the vast majority of the campaign in the bottom four.

21-man squad: Milner, O’Brien, McQueen, Marsters, Livett, McGillvary, Ashworth, Connor, Bibby, Greenwood, Naiqama, Cudjoe, Yates, English, Peats, Wilson, Halsall, Hewitt, Ikahihifo, Lolohea, Pryce

WARRINGTON WOLVES

  • Warrington Wolves put in a decent performance against St. Helens last time out but they ultimately fell short and their play-off fate will go down to the final round of the season.
  • A win for Warrington would secure their spot in the top six but they will be without key prop Paul Vaughan for this game after he was handed a big suspension from last week’s encounter.

21-man squad: Ashton, Bullock, Clark, Crowther, Currie, Drinkwater, Dudson, Dufty, Harrison, Hayes, Kasiano, Mikaele, Nicholson, Philbin, Ratchford, Russell, Thewlis, Walker, Williams, Wrench

THE PREDICTION

Huddersfield Giants will be keen to lay down a marker for next season as they look to secure a second win in succession. They were far too good for Hull FC last week but they will face a tougher opponent here as they take on play-off hopefuls Warrington Wolves. The away side have won just two of their last 11 in the league and while there have been signs of improvement of late, they may well need Salford Red Devils to slip-up to secure their top six place with the Giants able to win this one.
