WAKEFIELD TRINITY

• Wakefield Trinity’s recent good run of form could not be continued last week as they suffered a very disappointing defeat against bottom side Leigh Centurions, handing the relegated side just their second victory of the campaign.
• Trinity were wasteful in possession and were punished for some poor decision making but they will look to put that defeat behind them in their final game of the season and they will hope the possible inclusion of the outgoing Joe Westerman can provide them with the boost they need.

• Hull FC produced another poor display as they were kept scoreless against Wigan Warriors last week and the Black and Whites will bring a disappointing campaign to its conclusion here.
• After starting the season in strong fashion, Hull have fallen by the wayside with their small squad becoming increasingly exposed because of injuries having lost eight of their last nine matches.

THE PREDICTION

Wakefield Trinity and Hull FC have both failed to make the play-offs so their season will end at the conclusion of this contest. Wakefield have responded well to the sacking of Chris Chester but Willie Poching’s prospects of landing the job on a permanent basis suffered a blow last week as his side went down to bottom of the table Leigh Centurions. He will be desperate to end the year on a high but as too will Brett Hodgson who has found things tough going in his first year in charge of the Black and Whites. Neither side inspire a great deal of confidence here but Wakefield’s recent form has been much better than that of their opponents so the hosts should prevail here.
