• Wakefield Trinity were right in the game with Catalans Dragons last week as they trailed by just four points at the break but a terrible second half showing coupled with a dominant Dragons’ display saw the hosts run up a big score.
• Having led 0-8, Wakefield then allowed 40 unanswered points including 28 in the second half as they were torn to shreds following a solid opening which means Trinity have now lost their eight games in all competitions.
• To make matters worse for Wakey, their squad is weaker than it was last week with Bill Tupou, Tony Gigot, Joe Westerman and Chris Green dropping out of their 21-man squad but on-loan London Broncos prop Eddie Battye could make his debut.

• St. Helens came out on top of their derby with local rivals Wigan Warriors last week as Saints blew their young opponents away and were able to keep them to nil in the one-sided contest.
• Wigan opted to rest the vast majority of their first-team players in a bid to keep them fresh for their Challenge Cup semi-final and with Saints boasting a vastly superior and experienced outfit, those differences told in the 0-42 success.
• That victory ensured that the defending champions made it seven Super League victories in a row whilst they also leapfrogged Warrington Wolves to retake top spot and in a further boost for this clash, Saints are able to recall Tommy Makinson following a long ban.

THE PREDICTION

Wakefield Trinity have struggled all season but they are now stuck in a real rut and look to be in a huge battle to avoid finishing bottom of Super League. They are yet to win following the restart and suffered a heavy loss at the hands of Catalans Dragons despite starting strongly in their clash last week. That is now eight straight losses in all competitions and face another difficult test here as they come up against reigning champions St. Helens. Saints’ form is the complete opposite to Wakefield’s having won their last seven league matches and it is difficult to envisage anything but a big win for the league leaders with the margin likely to be at least 20 points.
