THE TEAM NEWS

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons pushed reigning premiers Penrith Panthers all the way in a much-improved effort last time out but they have won just one of their last nine matches after that defeat.
  • The Dragons will be desperate to find a way to win here but face another tough task as they host South Sydney Rabbitohs and must do so without Jack De Belin who suffered a head knock last week.

Starting 13: Sloan, Mat. Feagai, Suli, Lomax, Ravalawa, Sullivan, B. Hunt, F. Molo, Liddle, M. Molo, Burns, Su’A, Murdoch Masila – Interchanges: Mbye, J. Hunt, Kerr, Musgrove – Reserves: Amone, Lawrie

Unavailable: Cody Ramsey (Illness), Tyrell Fuimaono (Injured), Jack Bird (Rested), Jack De Belin (Injured)

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • After suffering back-to-back losses, South Sydney Rabbitohs got back to winning ways as they produced an impressive attacking display to get the better of Gold Coast Titans.
  • The Bunnies will be keen to back that effort up but they have a star-studded list of casualties at the minute which has been made worse by the late withdrawal by five-eighth Cody Walker.

Starting 13: Taaffe, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Kennar, Hawkins, Ilias, Tatola, Cook, Sele, Koloamatangi, Host, S. Mitchell – Interchanges: Cartwright, Chee Kam, Havili, Suluka-Fifita – Reserves: Milne, Duncan

Unavailable: Thomas Burgess (Injured), Latrell Mitchell (Injured), Cameron Murray (Injured), Jai Arrow (Injured), Cody Walker (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

St. George Illawarra Dragons showed signs of improvement last week as they gave Penrith Panthers a game and they could well cause an upset here if they can build on that performance. They face an under-manned South Sydney Rabbitohs outfit that come into this missing three key men in the shape of Latrell Mitchell, Cam Murray and Cody Walker. They are huge absentees and despite getting back to winning ways last week as well as winning eight of the past nine matchups between the two, it is hard to side with the Bunnies owing to their casualty ward so side with the Dragons with the aid of a +10 start on the handicap.
