THE TEAM NEWS

PARRAMATTA EELS

  • Parramatta Eels made it three straight wins as they proved to be far too good for Canterbury Bulldogs last week but they will have to deal with a short turnaround here having only played on Monday.
  • The Eels will also have to deal with the loss of Mitchell Moses following his Origin call-up with Junior Paulo also away with New South Wales and that leaves the hosts fielding an unfamiliar halves pairing of Ryan Matterson and Daejarn Asi with Dylan Brown remaining on the sidelines.

Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Penisini, Simonsson, Russell, Matterson, Asi, Campbell-Gillard, Hands, Ogden, Cartwright, Davey, Hopgood – Interchanges: Moretti, Ofahengaue, Doorey, Makatoa – Reserves: Dunster, Murchie, Rowell, Blake, Lane

Unavailable: Wiremu Greig (Injured), Dylan Brown (Stood down), Josh Hodgson (Injured), Mitchell Moses (Origin), Junior Paulo (Origin)

MANLY SEA EAGLES

  • Manly Sea Eagles produced their best performance of the season as they blitzed the Dolphins in what was a brilliant attacking display which saw them amass 58 points.
  • In two of their last three matches, the Sea Eagles have posted at least 42 points but they will be without two key men here with Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans away on Origin duty.

Starting 13: Weekes, Saab, Koula, Garrick, Tuipulotu, Schuster, Arthur, Paseka, Croker, Sipley, Olakau’atu, Fainu, Keppie – Interchanges: Lawton, Aloiai, Bullemor, Condon – Reserves: Woods, Tuaimalo Vaega, Harper, Cham Kum Tong, Fulton

Unavailable: Kelma Tuilagi (Injured), Jake Trbojevic (Injured), Ben Trbojevic (Injured), Tom Trbojevic (Origin), Daly Cherry-Evans (Origin)

THE PREDICTION

This is a contest that could go either way and would usually be a highly-anticipated game but Origin call-ups have taken some edge off it. Both teams will take to the field missing a couple of key men and only one of the four halves are deemed to be first choice for their respective teams. That could well be where the battle is won with Josh Schuster looking to build on his side’s superb effort last week in which they ran riot against the Dolphins, the away side are favoured with the benefit of a +6.5 start on the handicap.
