THE TEAM NEWS
MELBOURNE STORM
- Melbourne Storm suffered another heavy loss in succession and despite the manner of their most recent defeat to North Queensland Cowboys, there will be no alarm bells ringing yet having gone down to an impressive outfit.
- The Storm were also missing plenty of talent for that clash but they are handed a huge boost here with halfback Jahrome Hughes slated to make his return from injury and some greater direction around the pitch could change their recent fortunes.
Starting 13: Meaney, Ieremia, Seve, Olam, Coates, Munster, Hughes, J. Bromwich, H. Grant, Kamikamica, Kaufusi, K. Bromwich, King – Interchanges: B. Smith, Wishart, Toiero, MacDonald – Reserves: Lewis, Nikorima, J. Grant, Eisenhuth, Warbrick, Garlick, Howart
Unavailable: Christian Welch, George Jennings, Tepai Moeroa, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Reimis Smith, Nelson Asofa-Solomona
MANLY SEA EAGLES
- Manly Sea Eagles were beaten for the second time in succession and the fourth game in five as Parramatta Eels were able to overturn a ten-point deficit to snatch a late victory but the defeat was perhaps secondary in the grander scheme of things.
- Star fullback Tom Trbojevic suffered a season-ending shoulder injury with that news rocking the club and they will have to improve greatly to deal with his absence, a task falling upon Reuben Garrick for this clash with Jorge Taufua coming in from the cold on the wing.
Starting 13: Garrick, Taufua, Harper, Koula, Tuipulotu, Foran, Cherry-Evans, Aloiai, Croker, Sipley, Olakau’atu, Davey, J. Trbojevic – Interchanges: Walker, Schuster, Bullemor, Keppie – Reserves: De Luis, Saab, Weekes, Fifita, Tuitavake, Humphreys, Sykes
Unavailable: Brad Parker, Karl Lawton, Morgan Boyle, Taniela Paseka, Ben Trbojevic, Tom Trbojevic, Martin Taupau
THE PREDICTION
Melbourne Storm have produced two underwhelming efforts in succession and while there are excuses for them with a handful of key players sidelined, they would still have been expected to produce more than they have. There was still enough talent in their side to challenge North Queensland Cowboys last week but with Jahrome Hughes back in the #7 shirt for this clash with Manly Sea Eagles while also returning to AAMI Park, there is a big response expected from the Storm here. The Sea Eagles have lost four of their last five and with star man Tom Trbojevic suffering a season-ending injury last week, they have it all to do to turnaround their poor form with sixth successive defeat in-a-row against the Storm the most likely outcome.
