THE TEAM NEWS

GOLD COAST TITANS

  • Gold Coast Titans were on the end of another controversial and narrow loss as they were downed by a solitary point in their clash with Parramatta Eels last week.
  • That was a third defeat in succession for the Titans and to make matters worse for them, they have lost skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui for the next three matches after copping a ban for a shoulder charge last week.

Starting 13: Brimson, Khan-Pereira, Kelly, J. Fifita, Sami, Foran, Boyd, Fotuaika, Verrills, Liu, D. Fifita, Haas, Clark – Interchanges: Campbell, Randall, Stimson, Alick – Reserves: I. Fa’asuamaleaui, Schoupp, Maumalo, Leeming, Miakele

Unavailable: Beau Fermor (Injured), Jaimin Jolliffe (Injured), Tino Fa’asuamaleaui (Suspended)

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

  • Sydney Roosters suffered a third loss in-a-row as they were beaten by Melbourne Storm and any hopes of making the top eight are now surely all but over.
  • It would take a huge turnaround from the Tricolours to make the finals from here but they are handed a boost in their quest to win this contest with captain James Tedesco back in the side after he was rested last week.

Starting 13: Tedesco, Tupou, Bi. Smith, Manu, Suaalii, Keary, S. Smith, Waerea-Hagreaves, Turpin, Collins, Radley, N. Butcher, Brown – Interchanges: Br. Smith, E. Butcher, Wong, May – Reserves: Allan, Napa, Hutchison, Pauga, Baker

Unavailable: Connor Watson (Injured), Paul Momirovski (Injured), Sam Walker (Injured), Angus Crichton (Injured), Sitili Tupouniua (Injured), Naufahu Whyte (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

These two teams both look set to miss out on a spot in the finals and come into this having lost each of their last three matches. Gold Coast Titans will hope that home advantage can help them to cause an upset but the loss of captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is a big blow. Sydney Roosters have been underwhelming all campaign but have shown some decent signs in their last few matches and with their side strengthened with the return of James Tedesco at fullback, his presence could be enough to lead the Tricolours to the win.
