THE TEAM NEWS

CANBERRA RAIDERS

  • Canberra Raiders were given a huge scare last week as they fell behind late in their game with Wests Tigers, despite amassing an 18-point lead but a last-gasp penalty from Jamal Fogarty ensured they claimed a dramatic victory.
  • That is now seven victories from their last eight outings and confidence will be high for Jarrod Croker’s 300th NRL game while Elliott Whitehead is back from a ban.

Starting 13: Kris, Hopoate, Croker, Timoko, Rapana, Wighton, Fogarty, Papali’i, Woolford, Tapine, Young, Whitehead, Horsburgh – Interchanges: Starling, Guler, Cotric, Saulo – Reserves: Frawley, Mariota

Unavailable: Adrian Trevilyan (Injured), Corey Harawira-Naera (Injured)

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS

  • New Zealand Warriors made it two wins from their last three as they produced a very good performance to get the better of the Dolphins in their most recent encounter.
  • The Warriors now face a difficult trip as they head to Canberra and will do so without centre Rocco Berry so Ali Leiataua will make his NRL debut.

Starting 13: Nicoll-Klokstad, Watene-Zelezniak, Leiataua, Pompey, Montoya, Metcalf, Johnson, Fonua-Blake, Egan, Afoa, Ford, Niukore, Harris – Interchanges: Sironen, Curran, Barnett, Ale – Reserves: Volkman, Tuaupiki

Unavailable: Valingi Kepu (Injured), Brayden Wiliame (Injured), Te Maire Martin (Injured), Jazz Tevaga (Injured), Edward Kosi (Injured), Rocco Berry (Injured), Dylan Walker (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Canberra Raiders have been impressive for a long period now and have won seven of their last eight outings. They will be confident of further success here as they take on a New Zealand Warriors outfit that have been hard to predict of late but they did produce a good performance last week in their win over the Dolphins. However, the Raiders’ consistency makes them tough to oppose here and with home advantage also thrown into the mix, the hosts are fancied to prevail.
