THE TEAM NEWS
NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS
Starting 13: Hoy, To’a, Tuala, Best, Musgrove, Watson, Mann, Sue, Brailey, J. Saifiti, Jones, Fitzgibbon, Barnett – Interchanges: King, Johns, Clifford, Croker – Reserves: Sasagi, Momoisea

- Newcastle Knights earned a brilliant win over in-form Manly Sea Eagles and while it was not the most vintage performance, they will have been relieved to earn an important two points to get their push for a top eight spot back on track.
- It was a first win in three games for the Knights and just their second in six but they will be without even more players this week with the loss of David Klemmer, Daniel Saifiti and Tyson Frizell significantly weakening their pack.
PARRAMATTA EELS
Starting 13: Gutherson, Sivo, Opacic, Blake, Dunster, D. Brown, Moses, Campbell-Gillard, Mahoney, Niukore, Papali’i, Matterson, N. Brown – Interchanges: Smith, Lane, Kaufusi, Cartwright – Reserves: Makatoa, Penisini
Unavailable: Junior Paulo (Origin)
- Parramatta Eels suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season as they produced a poor performance against South Sydney Rabbitohs last week with their top four spot now coming under threat.
- The Eels were poor defensively for the second week running while their attack also faltered once again, although they are boosted by the return of Dylan Brown who will line-up in the halves here after serving a ban.
THE PREDICTION
Newcastle Knights secured a shock win over Manly Sea Eagles last week
but they have it all to do if they are to back that up here. Their pack
has been severely weakened on the back of that success for a variety of
reasons and with Kalyn Ponga still out, this will be a big test for their under-strength side against
Parramatta Eels. The away side have underperformed on their last two
outings but are just one player short of fielding their strongest 17
this week which should be significant and Newcastle’s patched-up side are unlikely to be able to
live with Parramatta in this one.
