STAN WAWRINKA VS ALEXEI POPYRIN PREDICTION
After being knocked out of the doubles tournament alongside fellow Australian Alex de Minaur in straight sets, Alexei Popyrin now looks to bounce back in the singles. His energy across the court will be difficult for Stan Wawrinka to counter, although in what will likely be the 39-year-old’s last Olympics, toppling the veteran will be a challenge.
Popyrin was impressive in the first round, shaking off previous struggles on clay across 2024. Over the course of this one, the expectation is that he will wear out Wawrinka the longer play goes on. With that in mind, back Popyrin to triumph after three.
