Felix Auger-Aliassime meets Marcos Giron in the first round at the 2024 Paris Olympics and it is the Canadian who has had the edge between them in previous meetings

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME VS MARCOS GIRON PREDICTION

One of the more entertaining matches takes place on the first day at the Paris 2024 Olympics with Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime meeting American Marcos Giron in the first round. They have met four times before and the Canadian has won three of those matches including the one encounter on clay in 2022 in Rome. That said, Giron did win the last meeting in Tokyo last year.

Giron comes off winning an ATP 250 title in Newport a couple of weeks ago so that will boost his confidence. That was on grass however and his better performances this year have come on either grass or hard courts.

Auger-Aliassime is a solid clay court player and did well at Roland Garros this year losing in the round of 16 to Carlos Alcaraz. Prior to that he won three matches against Nishioka, Squire and Shelton and he will be confident of overcoming Giron here. Our preference is with the Canadian to progress.
