Who is the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s Synchronised 10m Platform final? Tom Daley & Matty Lee (GBR)

PREDICTION

The defending champions of this event are Tom Daley and Matty Lee with Daley, at his fourth games, finally winning an Olympic gold in Tokyo. Daley returns to defend his title alongside Noah Williams, who won silver in the event with Daley at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships earlier this year.

However, Daley and Williams defending GB’s title in this event is extremely unlikely. China were left frustrated at not clean sweeping in Tokyo and have returned with a vengeance that has Lian Junjie and Yang Hao as the overwhelming favourites for the event and are expected to win the gold medal quite comfortably. Team GB should medal, though.

TIP: TOM DALEY & NOAH WILLIAMS (GBR) TO WIN SILVER

MEN’S 200M FREESTYLE FINAL

Who is the reigning Olympic champion in the men’s 200m freestyle final? Thomas Dean (GBR)

Who is the current world record holder of the men’s 200m freestyle? Paul Biedermann (GER) with 1:42.00 in Rome on 28th July 2009

PREDICTION

Three years ago, Great Britain took the gold and silver medals in this competition with Tom Dean pipping Duncan Scott to the finish line. This time around, Dean will not compete to defend his title in the 200m freestyle, whilst Scott is in the hunt to medal once again – however, neither her or his compatriot competitor, Matt Richards, are favourites to win.

The overwhelming favourite to win the event is Romania’s David Popovici. The 19-year-old won two World Championship golds in the 100m freestyle and the 200m freestyle in 2022 and doubled his gold medal tally to four in the European Championships in the same events earlier this year. Whilst Popovici is expected to win, it would be a good value bet to back two Brits once again getting on the podium with Richards among the ‘best of the rest’ pack and Scott not too far behind.

TIP: MATT RICHARDS (GBR) & DUNCAN SCOTT (GBR) TO MEDAL

WOMEN’S 200M FREESTYLE FINAL

What time is the women’s 200m freestyle final taking place? UK – 8:48pm / France – 9:48pm / US ET – 3:48pm / US PT – 1:48pm

Where is the women’s 200m freestyle final taking place? Paris La Concorde, Paris

Who is the reigning Olympic champion in the women’s 200m freestyle final? Ariarne Titmus (AUS)

Who is the current world record holder of the women’s 200m freestyle? Mollie O’Callaghan (AUS) with 1:52.85 in Fukuoka on 26th July 2023

PREDICTION

Three years ago, Aussie Ariarne Titmus set a new Olympic record for the women’s 200m freestyle with a time of 1:53.50 on her way to Olympic gold. She is once again among the favourites to win this time around but her compatriot Mollie O’Callaghan, who didn’t compete in this event in Tokyo, is her biggest competitor.

O’Callaghan is already a two-time Olympic gold medallist winning the 4x100m medley and 4x100m freestyle back in Tokyo but the 20-year-old is now expected continue her form into a strong Olympic campaign this time around. After setting a world record in the World Championships last year, it would be a good bet to back her to pip her teammate to first place.

TIP: MOLLIE O’CALLAGHAN (AUS) TO WIN
