SHARABUTDIN MAGOMEDOV: DAGESTAN STAR PUTS 100% RECORD ON THE LINE

Sharabutdin Magomedov (14-0) is showing that the hype around him is legit as he has come into the UFC and continues winning. Unlike so many of the fighters coming out of Dagestan, Magomedov has serious knockout power and relies on his striking more than his grappling. He has won 11 of his 14 fights by knockout with the other three coming on the scorecards. He has won all three fights in the UFC and has a Performance of the Night and a Fight of the Night bonus from his last two fights.

ARMEN PETROSYAN: ARMENIA EAGER TO BOUNCE BACK FROM THIRD MMA LOSS

Armen Petrosyan (9-3) is coming off the third loss of his professional MMA career as he was submitted by Rodolfo Vieira at UFC Fight Night: Hermannsson vs Pyfer in February. That set him back once again in a similar way in which his loss to Caio Borralho did in July 2022. He will need to bounce back here once again but he has been handed a tough bout in Magomedov.

SHARABUTDIN MAGOMEDOV VS ARMEN PETROSYAN PREDICTION

This middleweight bout will separate the contender from the rest of the pack. Magomedov is on a 14-fight tear and has unbelievable momentum behind him right now. Petrosyan is coming off a loss and he needs a statement win if he is to stay relevant and show he can compete at the top end of the middleweight division.

Our sense is that Petrosyan has been found wanting when he has fought higher calibre fighters such as Rodolfo Vieira and Caio Borralho. Magomedov has not fought that kind of quality yet but he is a formidable opponent.

There is every chance that he can make the jump to the next level and a win here will put him in contention for better fights. We think he has the quality to beat Petrosyan and can catapult himself in the top 15 in the middleweight division.

PREDICTION: SHARABUTDIN MAGOMEDOV TO WIN
