ZAK CUMMINGS VS ED HERMAN LOWDOWN
We have only seen Zak Cummings (24-7) once since September 2019 which was a unanimous decision loss to Omari Akhmedov at UFC 242. He returned almost a year later to take on Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Fight Night 175 and notched his seventh unanimous decision to take his UFC tally to 9-4.
The veteran Ed Herman (26-15(1)) has only been slightly more active fighting twice since November 2019. That was a unanimous decision over Khadis Ibragimov which came after a TKO over Patrick Cummins (2021). He went on to submit Mike Rodriguez (2020) but is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Alonzo Menifield (2021) to dent his long UFC tally to 13-12(1)
ZAK CUMMINGS VS ED HERMAN PREDICTION
Cummings has been out of action for a hot minute, but this is really his to lose. Herman is tough as nails with 26 UFC fights in the bank but despite racking up three wins before his loss to Menfield, there are a lot the miles on the clock. His weapons are blunting and he is approaching the end of his career.
The veteran is still a threat on the ground and hits hard, however Cummings is also a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. If either of them are going to find a submission, it will be Cummings but we expect the majority of this to play out on the feet where Cummings has the speed, volume and cardio to overwhelm Herman.
