VOLKAN OEZDEMIR VS BOGDAN GUSKOV LOWDOWN

Volkan Oezdemir (18-7) is now 6-6 in the UFC which is not bad considering every single fight he has had in the octagon has been a tough one. He opened his account with a win over Ovince Saint Preux (2017) and opponents only got tougher. He is 1-3 in his last four getting knocked out by Jiri Prochazka (2020) and outpointed by Magomed Ankalaev (2021) before earning a decision back against Paul craig (2022). He is coming off another unanimous decision loss against Nikita Krylov (2022) and hopes to get back in the win column for his first fight of the year.

He finally gets a smaller name, but unfortunately for him, Bogdan Guskov (17-2) is just as dangerous. He makes his UFC debut having lost just once in his last 13. That was a knockout courtesy of Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (2020) for AMC. Since then, he has reeled off four first-round knockouts and is gunning for his 13th burial in Paris.

VOLKAN OEZDEMIR VS BOGDAN GUSKOV PREDICTION

This is an ugly match-up for Oezdemir as Guskov is also a rapid striker with knockout power. Oezdemir’s chin has taken a lot of damage and the Uzbekistani will not need many opportunities to shut the lights off.

The same can be said for Oezdemir who still possess unholy power in his hands and needs little room to land the killer blow. We can see an early knockout landing either way and we are leaning towards Oezdemir. Guskov’s suspect defence and the opponents the Swiss native have shared the cage with is impossible to ignore.

Prediction: Oezdemir via KO/TKO

Value bet: Guskov to win
