VICTORIA DUDAKOVA VS SAM HUGHES LOWDOWN
Since passing her audition on the Contender Series by outpointing Maria Silva (2022), Victoria Dudakova (8-0) has extended her unbeaten record. However, she has not really been tested. Her fight with Istela Nunes (2023) ended prematurely after the Brazilian landing awkwardly on her arm and dislocating her elbow. She then went on to meet Jinh Yu Frey (2023) and cruise another unanimous decision.
Now, she takes on Sam Hughes (8-6). She is 1-2 in her last three with all of those bouts ending via unanimous decision. She lost to Piera Rodriguez (2022) but pulled off the upset by beating Jaqueline Amorim (2023) at UFC 287. She is now coming off a loss to Yazmin Jauregui (2024) knocking her unflattering UFC record down to 3-5.

On paper, it is clear to see why Dudakova is the heavy favourite, although Hughes knows how to cause an upset. What she gives up in skill, she makes up for in cardio, pressure and durability, so if Dudakova has any weakness in her endurance, Hughes will exploit it.
Dudakova was scheduled to fight Melissa Gatto back in March but pulled out after failing ill on the evening of the fight. If she has fully recovered, we fully back her to land more on the feet and assume some control time in the clinch.
However, considering the odds, Hughes holds all the value and we would not be surprised if she steals the second and third round with her pressure.
