VANESSA DEMOPOULOS VS EMILY DUCOTE LOWDOWN
Vanessa Demopoulos (10-5) responded well to her unanimous decision loss to Karolina Kowalkiewicz a year ago. That snapped a three-fight win streak and she returned five months later to take on the Japanese wrestler Kanako Murata and earn an impressive unanimous decision to boost her UFC tally to 4-2.
Emily Ducote (13-8) also bounced back last year. After winning her debut against Jessica Penne (2022), Angela Hill (2022) and Loopy Godinez (2023) handed her humbling unanimous decision losses. She took on Ashley Yoder back in October and prevented the three-fight skid with a unanimous decision.

Neither fighter has any notable wins besides Murata who Ducote lost to back in 2019 for Invicta. However, it was not a convincing win for Demopoulos getting dominated in the grappling exchanges.
Her output on the feet seemed to convince the judges and that should be key for both fighters here. They are very evenly matched and we expect a high-volume striking exchange with a spot of grappling for three rounds.
Ducote is more technical and will boast a four-inch reach advantage. She is a better striker so makes sense as the heavy favourite, but Demopoulos will make this competitive with her aggression and output.
A decision is very likely and considering the odds, Demopoulos makes sense, but we are backing the more technical striker.
