THIAGO MOISES VS MITCH RAMIREZ LOWDOWN
Thiago Moises (17-7) fought twice last year with very mixed fortunes. He reeled off his second submission in a row by cranking Melquizael Costa’s face, but then ran into the French juggernaut. Benoit Saint Denis knocked him out in the second round chipping his UFC record down to 6-5.
He was preparing to welcome Brad Riddell back, but unfortunately, he had to pull out. Mitch Ramirez (8-1) takes his place pouncing on the opportunity to make his debut. He fought three times last year including his Contender Series loss and knockout to Carlos Prates. However, he is coming off a vintage knockout over Eiycaireon Tavarres.

The odds are completely stacked against Ramirez taking on the experienced Brazilian on short notice. Ramirez is tough with solid wrestling, but it is unlikely to be enough.
Ramirez can take Moises down, but it will be a risk considering how dangerous Moises’ jiu-jitsu is. If Ramirez’s strategy is to try and pin him down, he will be playing with and may be safer to keep this on the feet.
However, Moises is also a better striker. He will have the speed advantage and likely to win the majority of exchanges. Ramirez is capable of the upset, but Moises is better everywhere and can win this in a variety of ways.
