STEVE GARCIA VS SEUNG WOO CHOI LOWDOWN
Steve Garcia (15-5) emerges for the first time this year and drops back down to featherweight. After getting clapped by Hayisaer Maheshate (2022), he dropped down and went on a tear. He TKO’d Chase Hooper (2022) and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke (2023) before knocking out Melquizael Costa (2023) at 155 lbs bumping his UFC tally up to 4-2.
He takes on Seung Woo Choi (11-6) who also makes his first appearance of the year. He fought once in 2023 which was a unanimous decision win over Jarno Errens in Singapore which came with great relief preventing a four-fight skid. He got submitted by Alex Caceres (2021), dropped a split decision to Josh Culibao (2022) and got knocked out by Mike Trizano (2022) at UFC 281.
STEVE GARCIA VS SEUNG WOO CHOI PREDICTION
This should be an exciting scrap as they are both aggressive strikers and although they do not have any submission wins on the record, they can grapple. That said, we expect this to remain on the feet until either man falls.
They will start technical, but as soon as one starts to land, we can see this slipping into a brawl. This will suit Garcia who loves nothing more than slugging it out and is usually the last man standing.
The more patient Choi is the better chance he has, however that knockout to Trizano is a bad omen and this is a great stylistic matchup for Garcia.
