SERHIY SIDEY VS RAMON TAVERAS LOWDOWN

Serhiy Sidey (10-1) makes his debut against the last man he beat. It was on the Contender Series against Ramon Taveras back in September and although it was a slightly early stoppage, he walked away with the TKO and UFC contract.

Ramon Taveras (9-2) is grateful to get another opportunity and he deserves it after returning to the Contender Series stage a month later in October. He delivered a first-round knockout of his own over Cortavious Romious to get the call-up.

SERHIY SIDEY VS RAMON TAVERAS PREDICTION

Sidey is unsurprisingly the favourite, but we do not expect this to be as straight forward. Taveras is a good boxer with quick hand speed. He will look to counter from his southpaw stance and will certainly respect Sidey’s power this time around.

The Ukraine-Canadian is a rangy striker who can grapple. We expect him to stick to his striking and as long as he respects Taveras’ power, he should have the timing to outwork him.

It looks like Sidey has his number, but we can easily see Taveras pulling off the upset especially if he can incorporate some leg kicks.

Prediction: Sidey via Decision

Value bet: Taveras to win
