RINAT FAKHRETDINOV VS NICOLAS DALBY LOWDOWN

Rinat Fakhretdinov (21-1-1) arrived to the UFC with a lot of hype back in 2022. He opened his account with a couple solid unanimous decisions over Andreas Michailidis and Bryan Battle. He then welcomed Kevin Lee (2023) back in the octagon and then into retirement with a submission in the first minute. He then took on Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos who inflicted his first blemish in 21 bouts fighting to a draw.

Nicolas Dalby (23-4-1(2)) has only lost once in his last 12 fights. That was a unanimous decision to Tim Means (2021) and he has gone on to win his next four. He earnt decisions over Claudio Silva (2022), Warlley Alves (2023) and Muslim Salikhov (2023) and then pulled off one of his most impressive victories to date. He met the prospect Gabriel Bonfim (2023) in Brazil and handed him his first loss finishing him with gruelling knees and elbows.

RINAT FAKHRETDINOV VS NICOLAS DALBY PREDICTION

Dalby flies out hoping to spoil the show once again. Fakhretdinov is being set up for another win, but Dalby’s durability and cardio will make him work hard for the win.

Fakhretdinov is a grappling monster, and we fully expect him to be able to take Dalby down. The Dane can wrestle and has decent jiu-jitsu, but his offence is better than his defence. Fakhretdinov will have to be patient as Dalby will not accept being pinned on his back.

The fight will begin on the feet where Dalby will fancy himself. However, Fakhretdonov has the power advantage and will hunt the knockout before the takedown. The Russian is better everywhere and the only way he loses this if he underestimates Dalby’s power on the feet or gasses out too quickly.

Dalby is a dog and has proven you cannot count him out. He is a huge underdog again and is worth a punt, but on paper, Fakhretdinov should win.

Prediction: Fakhretdinov via Decision

Value Bet: Dalby to win
