RAYANNE DOS SANTOS VS PUJA TOMAR LOWDOWN
After three wins on the bounce, Rayanne dos Santos (14-7) got the call-up to the big time. She had just beaten Jillian DeCoursey (2023) to become the Invicta atomweight champion and was paired with Talita Alencar (2023) at UFC Fight Night 233. Unfortunately, her debut did not go to plan losing a split decision.
Now, it is Puja Tomar’s (8-4) turn to make her UFC debut. She is coming off four straight wins for Matrix Fight Night including knockouts in her last three. She TKO’d Tenzin Pema (2022), Bi Nguyen (2022) and Anatasia Feofanova (2023) to pave her way into the UFC.
RAYANNE DOS SANTOS VS PUJA TOMAR PREDICTION
The stage is set for the first female fighter hailing from India. However, this is a tough match-up for her.
She is an aggressive striker with finishing ability, but there are clear holes in her grappling and dos Santos has excellent jiu-jitsu. If Tomar can defend the takedown, she has the speed the output to overwhelm dos Santos on the feet.
However, Tomar is the underdog for a reason, and we expect Brazilian to avoid the blitz, take her down and eventually find a submission.
