Niko Price (15-7 (2)) heads to New Jersey in search for his second win in five years. His last was a unanimous decision over Alex Oliveira (2021). Since then, he has fought twice and been knocked out both times. First by Philip Rowe (2022) and then by the legend Robbie Lawler (2023) in his swan song at UFC 290 which knocked Price’s UFC record down to 7-7(2).
Alex Morono (24-9(1)) boasts a healthier UFC record of 13-6(1) with that ‘no contest’ coming against Price which was eventually overturned due to Price testing positive for marijuana. Morono is 2-2 in his last four getting knocked out by Santiago Ponzinnibio (2022) before submitting Tim Means (2023). He then got outpointed by Joaquin Buckley (2023) and is coming off a unanimous decision of his own against Court McGee (2024).

Price knocked Morono out in their first clash, but it was a very competitive scrap. That was over seven years ago and they are different fighters now. Price’s form is miserable and his chin has taken a beating in recent fights making him the heavy underdog.
That said, he is still very dangerous. Morono has also been inconsistent so there is value on Price. We are still backing Morono who seems to have a lot more left in the tank. He has knockout power and should the fight hit the ground, he has very good jiu-jitsu.
Price is also a knockout threat and very dangerous off his back whether that is hunting a submission or knockout, so it is hard to count him out. A Morono decision or knockout is likely, but the value is on Price to win.
