Luana Carolina (10-4) has responded very well after two setbacks in London. The first was a devastating knockout loss courtesy of Molly McCann’s (2022) spinning back elbow. She then met Joanne Wood a year later dropping a split decision. However, she has bounced back by earning a unanimous decision to Ivana Petrovic (2023) and TKO over Julija Stoliarenko (2024) topping her UFC record up to 5-3.
Lucie Pudilova (14-9) is struggling to build any momentum in her second UFC stint. She returned triumphantly in 2022 by pounding out Yanan Wu to reel off her third career knockout. However, she has gone on to lose a split decision to Joselyne Edwards (2023) and more convincing unanimous decision to Alin Perez (2023) to take her overall UFC tally to 3-7.
LUANA CAROLINA VS LUCIE PUDILOVA PREDICTION
This is good matchmaking between two rangy strikers who can grapple. Neither of them are very dangerous and this is very likely to go to a decision especially as we can see Carolina initiate the grappling.
She is a decent Muay Thai striker with a dangerous clinch, and it was surprising to see her try and take Stoliarenko down considering the Lithuanian’s threat on the ground. If she has the confidence to do that, then we expect her to take Pudilova down considering her weak takedown defence.
On paper, the Brazilian should edge this on the feet and in the grappling exchanges, That said, we expect this to be very competitive with Carolina squeaking out a decision.
