LUANA CAROLINA VS JULIJA STOLIARENKO LOWDOWN
Luana Carolina (9-4) picked up an important win back in July. She was coming off two losses, both in London. On her first visit, she got slept by Molly McCann’s spinning back elbow and then a year later, she lost a split decision to Joanne Wood. It took another year for her to return where she welcomed the unbeaten Ivana Petrovic to the UFC and inflicted her first loss with a unanimous decision.
Julija Stoliarenko’s (11-7-2) topsy-turvy UFC form remains. After three losses on the bounce, she saved her UFC career by submitting Jessica-Rose Clark (2022). She then got TKO’d by Chelsea Chandler (2022) but returned in July this year in London to spoil to show by catching the home favourite McCann in an armbar bumping her UFC record up to 2-5.
LUANA CAROLINA VS JULIJA STOLIARENKO PREDICTION
Carolina will try and keep the fight on the feet, keep the distance and pepper from range. Stolirarenko on the other hand, will try and close that distance and try and get a hold of the Brazilian and take her down.
Carolina is very good in the clinch, so the Lithuanian will have to watch out for those knees and elbows. If she cannot get Carolina down, she will be in for a long night. She is not the best striker and the Brazilian should have her way with her on the feet.
If Stoliarenko, can put her on her back, she will aggressively hunt the submission. Interestingly, she is the favourite and we can certainly see an early armbar, but Carolina holds all of the value.
