JULIAN MARQUEZ VS ZACHARY REECE LOWDOWN

Julian Marquez (9-4) desperately needs a win. His last dubs were submissions back in 2021 against fighters who are no longer on the roster. He is now coming off two brutal knockout losses courtesy of Gregory Rodrigues (2022) and Marc-Andre Barriault (2023) at UFC 285 slumping to a UFC record of 3-3.

Zachary Reece (6-1) is also coming off a devastating knockout loss. After submitting Eli Aronov (2023) on the Contender Series, he made his UFC debut sitting proudly on a perfect record. Cody Brundage (2023) welcomed him to the UFC and welcomed his dome to the canvas with a thudding slam.

JULIAN MARQUEZ VS ZACHARY REECE PREDICTION

This should be a very exciting fight as both fighters recklessly hunt the finish whether that is a knockout or submission.

They both like to throw the kitchen sink and will pounce on a submission in a scramble. Marquez is more explosive and a stronger grappler whereas Reese boasts a five-inch reach advantage and is more technical on the feet.

We expect Reese to be slightly more patient and attempt to snipe from range. Marquez will look to negate the range by exploding into the pocket. He will throw bombs before level changing and we can see him landing the takedown especially given Reese’s confidence in fighting off his back.

If Reese fights smart and keeps the fight on the feet, he has the technique, range and cardio to win the striking exchanges and have the output to earn a late knockout or decision.

Either fighter is capable of a knockout or submission here, so back the underdog.

Prediction: Reese via KO/TKO

Value bet: Reese to win
