GURAM KUTATELADZE VS ELVES BRENNER LOWDOWN
Both of Guram Kutateladze’s (12-3) UFC fights could have gone either way which is a testament to his pedigree considering Mateusz Gamrot and Damir Ismagulov have a combined record of 46-4(1). He stepped up on short notice to fight Gamrot (2020) and caused the upset in a razor thin split decision. He got the same result against Ismagulov (2022) but fell on the wrong side of the split decision this time and now heads to the APEX hoping the judges will not be required.
Elves Brenner (14-3) is also coming off a split decision but fortunately for him, he fell on the right side against Zubaira Tukhugov back in February. That was his debut at UFC 284 and it extended his win streak to three after submitting Adilson Ramos Silva (2021 – IF) and Victor Nunez (2022 - PFL).
GURAM KUTATELADZE VS ELVES BRENNER PREDICTION
It is a real shame that Kutateladze only has two UFC fights to his name as he could have stormed his way up the lightweight rankings by now. He is strong as an ox and incredibly well-rounded. He is a dangerous kickboxer and an exceptional grappler.
Brenner is a grappler by trade and likes to set up his takedowns with wild strikes. If this goes to the ground, it will be interesting, but we feel Kutateladze’s takedown defence is good enough to dictate where the fight takes place.
Brenner is dangerous, but the majority of this will remain in the feet where the Georgian’s striking will shine through to earn him a decision at least.
