GABRIEL BONFIM VS ANGE LOOSA LOWDOWN

Gabriel Bonfim (15-1) heads to Denver with a lot to prove. He was full steam ahead on his hype train after submitting Mounir Lazzez (2023) at UFC 283 and Trevin Giles (2023) at UFC 291. Those ruthless dubs extended his 100% finish rate including three knockouts and 12 submissions. However, he then ran into a Danish hump in the form of Nicolas Dalby (2023) who rallied to TKO him in the second round.

Now, he has to respond against Ange Loosa (10-3(1)). He is unbeaten in his last three after losing his UFC debut to Lazzez (2022). He earnt unanimous decisions over AJ Fletcher (2022) and Rhys McKee (2023) before his fight with Bryan Battle (2024) ended prematurely after getting poked in the eye.

GABRIEL BONFIM VS ANGE LOOSA PREDICTION

This is a great opportunity for Bonfim to regain his stock. He has all the ability to tear up the welterweight division with dangerous striking and top tier jiu-jitsu. Despite his clear killer instinct, he can also be patient and after his last fight, he will have learnt his lesson not to empty the tank.

Loosa is also a good striker and can wrestle averaging over two takedowns per fight. Although, he does not have the cardio of Dalby, he is very durable and if he can weather the early storm, he will be a serious threat as the fight goes on.

The UFC have lined Loosa up for a reason as he also has the ability to withstand the early pressure and humble the Brazilian. For that reason, he represents all the value as the colossal underdog.

That said, the Dalby fight is the perfect lesson for Bonfim who we expect to make the adjustments and pace himself better. Taking this into account along with Loosa’s durability, we can see Bonfim earning his first ever decision.

Prediction: Bonfim via Decision

Value Bet: Loosa to win
