BRYAN BATTLE VS ANGE LOOSA LOWDOWN

Bryan Battle (10-2) was gaining some serious momentum after winning The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) in 2021. He added fellow contestant Tresean Gore (2022) to the dub column in the unofficial finale which extended his win streak to seven. However, he clearly wanted it to end as he decided to step up on short notice to fight Rinat Fakhretdinov (2022). He lost a unanimous decision but has gained the momentum back with a brilliant knockout over Gabe Green and submission over AJ Fletcher this year.

Now, he takes on Ange Loosa (10-3) who has also picked up some momentum after his debut loss. He got outclassed by Mounir Lazzez (2022) in a unanimous decision. He was then also lined up with Fletcher and convinced all three judges in a decision at UFC 278. He is now coming off another unanimous decision win which was over Rhys McKee at UFC Fight Night 226 last year.

BRYAN BATTLE VS ANGE LOOSA PREDICTION

Battle is improving with each fight and he will also have learnt from the Fakhretdinov loss. He has slick jiu-jitsu, and his striking is becoming more dangerous. Loosa is also well-rounded but is more of a wrestler and will have the power advantage.

We expect a mixture of striking and grappling here in a back-and-forth scrap. The stand-up battle will be very interesting. Loosa will have more output whereas Battle will try and snipe from range and counter.

When the distance closes, Battle’s reliance on his jiu-jitsu may make him an easy target for a takedown. This is tough to call, but we are leaning towards Battle.

Prediction: Battle via Decision

Value bet: Loosa to win
