AZAMAT MURZAKANOV VS ALONZO MENIFIELD LOWDOWN
Azamat Murzakanov (13-0) continues his ascent up the light heavyweight division with three UFC dubs in the bag since making his debut two years ago. After a knockout on the Contender Series, he exploded onto the UFC with a blistering knee wiping out Tafon Nchukwi (2022) and followed that up with a TKO over Devin Clark (2022). Now, he is coming off a unanimous decision over Dustin Jacoby (2023) where he fought half the fight with a broken arm.
Alonzo Menifield’s (15-4-1) impressive five-fight unbeaten run was abruptly halted by Carlos Ulberg back in May at UFC on ESPN 56. He was coming off vintage knockouts over Askar Mozharov (2022) and Misha Cirkunov (2022) as well as a draw and submission over Jimmy Crute (2023) and unanimous decision over Jacoby (2023). However, the Kiwi smoked him in just 12 seconds to to go 8-4-1 in the UFC.

Murzakanov is the heavy favourite protecting his unbeaten record. As we know by now, Menifield has the power and explosiveness to shut the lights off with one hit. He will boast a five-inch reach and two-inch height advantage along with the power and speed advantage.
We have also seen more measured performances from him recently calling upon his grappling at the right times so holds all the value as the underdog. That said, he forgot all about that in his last outing and sprinted onto a knockout.
If he does the same here, someone is getting put to sleep. We are leaning towards Murzaknaov, but this will depend on how well Menifield can hold his nerve.
