ALEX CACERES VS DANIEL PINEDA LOWDOWN

We have not seen Alex Caceres (20-13(1)) for five months, but his last outing was an unforgettable performance. He was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Sodiq Yusuff (2022) which snapped a five-fight win streak. He met fellow veteran Julian Erosa and landed a majestic head kick in the first round.

Daniel Pineda (28-14(3)) went 3-4 in his first UFC stint between 2012 and 2014. He returned to the big time in 2020 after a performance enhancing run in the PFL and knocked out Herbert Burns on his return. He then got knocked out himself by Cub Swanson (2020) before getting poked by Andre Fili (2021) forcing a ‘no contest’. He returned nearly two years later back in March and it was worth the wait submitting Tucker Lutz in the second round.

ALEX CACERES VS DANIEL PINEDA PREDICTION

Caceres was never known for his power, but that knockout over Erosa was electrifying. Now, he takes on Pineda who always hunts the electrifying knockout. All 28 of hid wins have been finishes (nine knockouts and 19 submissions) so we know what to expect.

Pineda will obviously be threatening, but he has a small gas tank and Caceres is very durable. Bruce Leeroy will spend the first-round circling and avoiding the gun fire as Pineda’s energy bar runs down.

Expect Pineda to be as aggressive as usual hunting the chin while Caceres utilizes head movement, countering with punches and throwing an array of kicks. Pineda has the power to end the fight early, but we are backing Caceres to manoeuvre out of trouble, survive the first round and finish stronger to earn the decision.

Prediction: Caceres via Decision

Value bet: Pineda to win
