MAGOMED ANKALAEV: NUMBER ONE CONTENDER SEEKS TITLE SHOT WITH WIN

Magomed Ankalaev (18-1-1 with one no contest) has already had one title shot and he is desperate for another so he needs a win here at UFC 308. He fought Jan Blachowicz to a draw at UFC 282 for the vacant light heavyweight title but many fight fans scored it in Ankalaev’s favour. He then moved on to a fight with Johnny Walker which ended with a no-contest but Ankalaev dominated the rematch with a Performance of the Night knockout. He now has this bout with Rakic which he will know that a win will surely put him in contention for another title shot.

ALEKSANDAR RAKIC: ROCKET LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK FROM SUCCESSIVE LOSSES

Aleksandar Rakic (14-4) is coming off successive losses – both by TKO – at the hands of Jan Blachowicz and then Jiri Prochazka. He simply cannot afford to lose another one if he is stay in contention around the top five and in with a shout of a title shot. He is ranked number five in the light heavyweight division but he has been found wanting in the big fights. This is one where defeat will signal a drop in the rankings and put him further away from the belt.

MAGOMED ANKALAEV VS ALEKSANDAR RAKIC PREDICTION

This is our strongest pick of the night and we are convinced that Magomed Ankalaev will win this fight and put pressure on the UFC to giving him a title shot. He has only lost one fight in his career and that came back in 2018 and he is on an absolute tear.

He meets Aleksandar Rakic who is just not at that elite level. He has lost when he has faced those at the top of the rankings and Magomed should have far too much for him here.

Back Ankalaev with confidence and add him to your accumulators.

PREDICTION: MAGOMED ANKALAEV TO WIN
