THE PREDICTION
Denmark never really got going at the Olympics and were eliminated by the eventual silver medallists. The Danes have also lost five of their seven warm-up games for this tournament so they will need to show big improvements on those efforts as they face a tricky task against Kazakhstan. The Kazakhs were one of the success stories of last year’s IIHF World Championships as they won four of their six group games but were left to rue some bad fortune as they missed out on a spot in the quarter-finals. However, they have not taken to the ice very often since that event and conceded five goals in each of their two warm-up games with Latvia so they are expected to come up short in this clash with Denmark.
