THE LOWDOWN

The lucky last on day 3 is the Kim Muir with Mount Ida potentially the one to beat. The 7-year-old mare has been consistent when chasing this term, taking to it well with three finishes in the frame. One of those was a winning performance at Cork back in December and that form has stood up well since with four subsequent winners. Deise Aba had been pulled up twice in successive races before putting those disappointments behind him to win at Sandown last month in what was also a Class 2 race. Likely favourite Hold The Note has claims and responded well to wind surgery with a second-placed finish last time out at Newbury but having failed to win in any of his nine races over fences, he may be best overlooked until he does eventually get his nose in front.

THE PREDICTION

Hold The Note will hope to finally end his wait for a win when chasing but Mount Ida is fancied to prolong that run by winning the Kim Muir. Denise Foster’s horse has been consistent this season, finishing in the frame in all three runs. She will hope to add to her one success so far and with improvement to come from this longer trip on the switch to handicapping, Mount Ida can be the one to beat but she looks a good thing for a place at the very least at a big price.
