IN BRIEF

  • Lewis Hamilton claimed his first win of the 2020 season and the defending champion will be confident of making it back-to-back victories as the action moves to Hungary.
  • Hamilton will start on pole after edging Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas into first spot on the grid while Lance Stroll secured a somewhat surprising third place.
  • His Racing Point teammate Sergio Perez will be behind him and it could be a solid weekend for the pair, although they will need to start well and make their qualifying positions count.
  • In recent races at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Hamilton has had great success having won the last two while he has won this race on seven occasions in his career.

THE PREDICTION

With so much success in the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton’s pole position spells trouble for the rest of the field. He will look to make it three wins in a row in Hungary as well as making it back-to-back successes in 2020 after last week’s win in the Styrian Grand Prix. However, while it looks like he will add another victory here, it may be worth siding with Sergio Perez to capitalise on his solid showing in qualifying by earning a spot on the podium.
