Like three other nations in Group B, Oman have scored just one goal across the third round of qualifying so far. Only the other three however, Oman are yet to accumulate a single point following defeats against Iraq and Korea Republic respectively. The latter were simply too good for Oman with their plethora of stars shining in Europe making a big difference.
The defeat at the hands of Iraq was a more disappointing one with Oman coming up cold in front of goal. An Iraq goal inside the first 15 minutes proved to be enough to give them three points, with Oman having no answer.
KUWAIT PREVIEW: STILL UNBEATEN AND WITHIN REACH OF TOP TWO
Kuwait have firmly established themselves as the draw specialists of Group B as the only nation who have drawn both their two opening third round qualifying games so far. A last-gasp penalty from Al Sulaiman in second-half stoppage time rescued a 1-1 draw vs Jordan in their first group match.
Their second encounter, this time against Iraq was a turgid one, with both struggling from an attacking perspective. Whilst they boast a solid defence, Kuwait are still yet to score a Group B goal from open play.

Oman are in desperate need of three points and this should see them really try and take the game to Kuwait from an offensive point of view, especially at home. However, pushing bodies forward in big numbers may well see them caught out at the other end of the pitch even if it does improve their attacking output. When taking this into account, the smart move would be to back over 2.5 goals scored across the 90 minutes.
