BAHRAIN PREVIEW: JAPAN BRING MUHARABI DILMUN BACK DOWN TO EARTH

After pulling off what was the biggest shock victory for a long time in AFC qualification history when they defeated Australia by a goal to nil in Queensland, Bahrain were given a reality check by another very strong opponent in Japan less than a week later. The Samurai Blue thrashed Bahrain 0-5, serving a big hit to their goal difference.

Ultimately the quality of players within the Japan side underlined their class, ripping apart Bahrain, but doing so with tenacity and hard work to boot. Bahrain won’t face anyone better than Japan in Group C, so they need not panic.

INDONESIA PREVIEW: BACKLINE OF INDONESIA SHINING AMID TOUGH ASSIGNMENTS

Indonesia are drawing plaudits for their brilliant defensive performance so far across this third round of qualifying. Not only have they conceded just one goal across two group games as it stands, but have done so against strong opposition on paper, that being Saudi Arabia and Australia. Against the former, Indonesia came out of Jeddah with a 1-1 draw.

They weren’t expected to get anything vs Australia but a resolute, rock-solid showing against an opposition low on confidence following their shock defeat at the hands of Bahrain led to Indonesia shutting them out, the game finishing goalless.

BAHRAIN VS INDONESIA PREDICTION

Despite that comprehensive loss to Japan, Bahrain are still in a promising position and a point should give them inside the top four of Group C. They are in a good position to get a least a draw here with Indonesia also lacking effectiveness going forward. Backing under 2.5 goals to be scored and this match to end 0-0 should be seriously considered.

BAHRAIN VS INDONESIA TIP: DRAW AND UNDER 2.5 GOALS
