THE LOWDOWN

CRVENA ZVEZDA

If Crvena zvezda harbour any hopes of escaping Group G, they more than likely need to win here as anything less than three points will make it extremely difficult for them to qualify for the round of 16.

The Serbian side have actually taken the lead in two of their three Champions League fixtures to date, but have been unable to hold on and they only have one point to show for their efforts.

RB LEIPZIG

Leipzig are in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages having won two of their three group games, and they will see opponents Crvena zvezda as their direct rival for finishing in the second qualification spot.

The German side have experienced some mixed form since their last Champions League outing, beating Cologne 6-0 before being dumped out of the DFB-Pokal by Wolfsburg and suffering defeat to struggling Mainz in Bundesliga action on Saturday.

THE TEAM NEWS

CRVENA ZVEZDA

Alkesandar Katai is dealing with a minor illness but is likely to be available for this encounter, while there are no other absences to report in the Crvena zvezda camp.

Osman Bukari, who scored in his side's first two Champions League games, has been working his way back to full fitness lately and could well start for the Serbians.

PREDICTED XI (3-5-2): Glazer; Djiga, Dragović, Mijailović; Rodić, Stamenic, Hwang, Kanga, Ivanić; Bukari, Ndiaye

UNAVAILABLE:

QUESTIONABLE: Katai (Illness)

RB LEIPZIG

After a recent return from injury that saw him score in the reverse fixture against Crvena zvezda two weeks ago, Dani Olmo suffered a setback and will miss the rest of the group stage, and he joins Willi Orban on the sidelines.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-2-2): Blaswich; Henrichs, Simakan, Lukeba, Raum; Schlager, Haidara; Forsberg, Simons; Openda, Werner

UNAVAILABLE: Olmo (Injured), Orbán (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Bitshiabu (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Crvena zvezda are historically a difficult team to beat when they are home in Europe, with the fervent atmosphere created by the Belgrade faithful acting as a 12th man, and they will need their supporters to be in full voice here as they desperately need a win to keep their qualification hopes alive. This Leipzig side boast plenty of attacking talent though, and a win would almost certainly book their own passage into the round of 16. With plenty at stake here, both teams have a good chance of getting on the scoresheet.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
