THE KEY STATS

  • Celtic have won five of their previous eight UEFA club competition matches at home against Dutch teams (W5 D1 L2).
  • Celtic are without a win in their last 15 Champions League group stage matches (D3 L12). Since a 3-0 victory away at Anderlecht in September 2017.
  • Celtic have won only one of their last 26 Champions League group stage matches (D6 L19).
  • Feyenoord have lost only two of their previous 11 UEFA club competition matches against Scottish teams (W7 D2).
  • Feyenoord have lost their last seven Champions League group stage matches away from home.

THE PREDICTION

Whilst Feyenoord are notoriously poor away from home in Europe, they won’t get a better chance than this to put three points on the board against Celtic, who have only again let themselves down in this stage of the Champions League. Four defeats and one draw sums up another miserable European campaign for the Scottish champions, who are playing for pride and to prove something to their home supporters, no doubt sick of another group stage exit. Expect them to come out of the traps quickly and look to take the game to Feyenoord offensively. But Arne Slot’s side possess plenty of dangerous ammunition going forward, capable of inflicting more punishment on a Celtic backline who have shipped 14 goals across five Group E fixtures. With that in mind, backing both teams to score has to be favoured.

TIP: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
