THE PREDICTION
A 1-0 win over Tenerife has maintained Almeria’s hope for a top two finish and automatic promotion but they can now only catch Real Mallorca. Their slip away from those two spots is a result of very poor form since March in which, prior to that victory over Tenerife, they had collected 17 points in 14 matches. They come up against an Albacete side that are going to need to perform nigh on miracles to avoid relegation; but a 1-0 win away to ten-man Ponferradina last weekend (to make it just one loss in their last four and seven points collected) has given Alba a glimmer of hope. No team has drawn more home games than Almeria this season, seven, whilst the visitors are reasonably placed in 16th in the away form table. Given that, a surprise draw could be on the cards here.
